Alfredo Sauce with Cream Cheese

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Sauce:

  1. Melt the Butter and Olive Oil: In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until the butter is melted.
  2. Add the Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, just until fragrant and softened.
  3. Add the Heavy Cream: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  4. Incorporate the Cream Cheese: Cut the softened cream cheese into small chunks and add it to the saucepan. Stir until the cream cheese is completely melted and smooth, creating a velvety base for your sauce.
  5. Add the Parmesan Cheese: Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. Continue stirring until the sauce is smooth and thickened to your desired consistency.
  6. Season to Taste: Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as necessary.
  7. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the Alfredo sauce immediately over your favorite pasta, grilled chicken, or roasted vegetables. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
