Party Cheese Bread

Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread:

  • 1 loaf of French or Italian bread (preferably unsliced)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Garlic Butter:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Bread:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the Bread: Place the loaf of bread on a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, make cuts across the loaf in both directions to form a crisscross pattern. Be sure not to cut all the way through; leave the bottom intact so the bread stays together.
  3. Stuff the Bread: Gently pull apart the cuts in the bread and stuff the shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses into the slits, making sure the cheese is evenly distributed.

Prepare the Garlic Butter:

  1. Mix the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Brush the Bread: Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the top of the bread, making sure to drizzle it into all the cuts where the cheese is stuffed.

Bake the Cheese Bread:

  1. Wrap the Bread: Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, ensuring it is fully covered to keep the cheese inside from spilling out.
  2. Bake: Place the wrapped bread in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  3. Unwrap and Bake Again: After 20 minutes, carefully unwrap the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is golden brown on top.

Serve and Garnish:

  1. Serve Hot: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired.
  2. Pull Apart and Enjoy: Slice or pull apart the bread into sections, and serve while warm for the ultimate cheesy experience.
