  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts (unsalted or lightly salted)
  • 1 cup corn chips or crispy rice cereal squares (optional)

For the Spicy Seasoning:

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

Prepare the Snack Mix:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the cheese crackers, pretzels, peanuts, and any optional mix-ins like corn chips or cereal squares. Toss to combine.

Prepare the Seasoning:

  1. Melt the Butter: In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  2. Mix the Spices: Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, chili powder, black pepper, salt, and hot sauce (if using). Mix until fully combined.

Coat and Bake:

  1. Coat the Snack Mix: Pour the seasoned butter mixture over the snack mix. Gently toss until all pieces are evenly coated.
  2. Spread on Baking Sheet: Evenly spread the coated mix onto the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 20-25 Minutes: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even baking. The mix should be golden and crisp.
  4. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the snack mix cool completely before serving.

Serve and Enjoy:

  1. Transfer to a Serving Bowl: Once cooled, place the mix in a bowl and serve immediately.
  2. Store for Later: If not eating right away, store in an airtight container for up to a week.
